Its annual programming includes the organization of temporary exhibitions of works by Portuguese and international artists and the presentation of a permanent exhibition made from a selection of works in collections.
The collection of CAM currently comprises some 9,000 pieces of Portuguese and international artists, especially the representation of Portuguese art in the early decades of the twentieth century.
Of 60 years to the present, the collection has an important collection of works by Portuguese artists, many of whom worked throughout a regular schedule of solo exhibitions.
